Leaf diagnostics - Leaf analysis
What is the foliar diagnostic analysis?
Foliar diagnostic analysis is a chemical analysis of a number of leaf samples to determine their nutrient content in order to assess the nutritional status of the tree. Although soil nutrients, and in particular nitrogen, are mobile and variable, the foliar diagnostic test is of particular practical value because the results of the test can be used to assess the degree of availability of a nutrient in the soil, i.e. the tree’s capacity to take it up. The main advantages of foliar diagnostics are the prevention of nutrient deficiencies and the evaluation/management of fertilisation. While in combination with soil analysis, it provides a complete picture of the nutrient status of the crop, and facilitates diagnosis to identify the problem.
BIOCHEMIKI Analytical Laboratories, are able to provide you with a comprehensive package of leaf analysis, and also guide you in the correct sampling of these.
Sheet analysis package:
Nitrogen (N)
Nitrogen (N) Phosphorus (P)
Potassium (K)
Calcium (Ca)
Magnesium (Mg)
Iron (Fe)
Manganese (Mn)
Copper (Cu)
Zinc (Zn)
Boron (B)
Detection of pesticide residues
In many cases , growers have found that the cost for each leaf sample has often paid back in reduced fertiliser costs and/or production of higher quality produce.
